Susan Jane Wright

Susan Jane Wright was a lawyer and an executive in the energy sector before she became a writer. Her legal career took her from the board rooms of Calgary to the streets of Beijing. Her nonfiction has been published in Alberta Views and other newspapers.

She is a regular guest on TV and radio talk shows and podcasts. She’s received the PIA Public Interest Award for Southern Alberta and the Canadian Law Blog Award for her legal blog Susan on the Soapbox.

A career highlight was interviewing Beverley McLachlin, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, for Wordfest.

She writes legal thrillers and suspense.  Her short story Madeline in the Moonlight will appear in the Moonlight & Misadventure anthology, which is scheduled for publication in mid June.

Her novel, Box of Secrets, was short listed for the 2021 Crime Writers of Canada Awards of Excellence for Best Unpublished Manuscript.

When she’s not writing she’s traveling. Her all time favourite vacation was a trip from Prague to London on the Orient Express.

She lives with her husband and two daughters in Calgary, Alberta.

She loves to hear from her readers. If you’d like to contact her, you can reach her at Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
